Kenya, officially known as the Republic of Kenya, is a country located in East Africa. It is bordered by Ethiopia to the north, Somalia to the northeast, South Sudan to the northwest, Uganda to the west, Tanzania to the south, and the Indian Ocean to the southeast. The country has a diverse geography, with mountains, savannas, and tropical forests. The capital and largest city is Nairobi, and other major cities include Mombasa, Kisumu, and Nakuru. Kenya has a population of around 50 million people, with over 40 ethnic groups and more than 100 languages spoken. The official languages are Swahili and English, and the majority of the population practices Christianity. Kenya is known for its wildlife, including the Big Five game animals: lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos. The country is also home to many national parks and game reserves, such as the Masai Mara National Reserve and Amboseli National Park. Kenya has a developing economy, with agriculture and tourism being major industries.
