Uganda is a landlocked country located in East Africa. It is bordered by South Sudan to the north, Kenya to the east, Tanzania to the south, Rwanda to the southwest, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west. The geography of Uganda is diverse, with the highest point being Mount Stanley at 5,109 meters (16,763 feet) and the lowest point being Lake Albert at 621 meters (2,037 feet). The climate is generally tropical, with two rainy seasons and two dry seasons per year. The official language of Uganda is English, and the majority of the population speaks Luganda, a Bantu language. The capital and largest city is Kampala, and other major cities include Entebbe, Jinja, and Mbarara. Uganda has a diverse culture, with over 50 ethnic groups and a rich history dating back to the Buganda Kingdom. The country is known for its natural beauty, including the source of the Nile River at Lake Victoria, and its wildlife, including gorillas, chimpanzees, and elephants.
